Fine Arts Program
Praising the Lord Through the Arts!
"Praise the Lord. Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in the firmament of His power...Let everything that has breath praise the Lord." Psalm 150:1, 6

In the summer of 1996, Augusta Christian School renewed its commitment to the Fine Arts by renovating an existing building into the Charles B. Whitney Fine Arts Center. This center, named for one of our school founders, houses spacious band and choral suites as well as practice rooms and a large visual arts instruction room.
Fourth through twelfth grade students may participate in the Augusta Christian School band program with three different levels of band instruction. All bands perform in a variety of local, regional and state festivals and competitions as well as concerts throughout the year.
Our fourth - twelfth grade choral program includes two different levels of performance and competition groups: an elementary chorus and a middle/high school chorus. Choral groups consistently rate superior at competitions and festivals. The choral and drama departments perform a Broadway musical each year. Region and state titles have been won in past years in boy's and girl's solo, trio, quartet, and piano.
Visual art instruction classes are given to all students in grades 1-5. Middle school and senior high art and ceramic classes are offered as an elective. Art work by students is displayed throughout the campus.
Private piano and guitar lessons are offered to students on a first-come, first-serve basis during a student's free time in the school day. Contact Mr. Neal Little, neallittle@augustachristian.org if your student is interested in piano or guitar. ACS also offers private voice lessons. Contact Miss Erin Wilkerson, erinwilkerson@augustachristian.org or 706-863-2905, ext. 195, if your student is interested in private voice lessons.

Drama classes round out the Fine Arts program. Drama students participate in One Act Play competitions and perform for chapel and other activities. Drama students audition for the annual spring musical along with members of the high school chorus.
