Head Coach Anthony Courtney
Head Coach Anthony J. Courtney didn't attend ACS for school, nor is he a native of the south. Anthony has served in the Military and retired in the south. ACS now is now where he claims as home and he has high aspirations of building a wrestling program that produces a multitude of team wins and state champions.
Coach Courtney has entered his first year as Head Coach but is no stranger to Wrestling. He served as Wrestling coach for Fort Gordon in the late nineties and developed and conducted his first Wrestling and Submission Grappling camp for youth this past summer at Quantum Fitness where he is the current Training Fitness Director. Coach Courtney has been wrestling on and off since he was in the seventh grade. In 1988 Coach Courtney, then Specialist Courtney in the Army, competed in the Olympic trials both Freestyle and Greco-Roman. He placed third in Greco-Roman Wrestling. In 1995 Coach Courtney again showed his talents by becoming runner-up in both the Freestyle and Greco-Roman Wrestling tournament for Europe. He's competed in many other tournaments and prides himself on being a technician of the sport. Coach Courtney has one main philosophy, "Do your best every time you wrestle and make them remember who you are."
Coach Courtney graduated from Wayland Baptist University in 2001 with a Bachelors of Science in Occupational Education majoring in Management. He is currently one class from completing his Masters Degree in Human Resource Management. He is married to Stacy and has five children and two grandchildren. Coach Courtney and his family are currently looking for a church home, but are hopeful it will happen soon.
Assistant Coach David Alemar
Coach David Alemar is a 2011 graduate of Augusta Christian Schools. While a student at ACS, Coach Alemar was a member of the wrestling team, and last year he wrestled for Georgia Southern. He has returned to the area and looks to become a vital part of the wrestling coaching staff at Augusta Christian. Coach Alemar is a student at Augusta State University and attends Stevens Creek Community Church.
