On Saturday, October 13th, the Augusta Christian Swim Team hosted the SCISA State Swim Championship at the Augusta Aquatic Center. Twenty-five schools from Class A-AA and Class AAA as well as their 399 swimmers competed for team points, ribbons, and trophies. Our swim team parents, led by Amy Oetting, sold t-shirts, ran the concession stand, and provided breakfast and lunch for the coaches and officials.
Our school was well represented by our team, not only with good sportsmanship and support of their teammates, but also by the following finishes in the SCISA State Swim Championship:
Clayton Oetting - 2nd place in the 50 freestyle and 3rd place in the 100 butterfly
Will Thompson - 7th place in the 100 breaststroke and 10th place in the 100 backstroke
Boys 200 Medley Relay - 8th place
Girls 200 Freestyle Relay - 9th place
Boys 200 Freestyle Relay - 6th place
(1st - 10th places score points for the team)
