Instructional Positions for 2018-19 School Year
Middle school English teacher needed for the 2018-19 school year.
Position is responsible for developing the skills of reading literary texts, reading informational texts, writing in a variety of styles, and listening and speaking that are essential for effective communication.
Teaches content and skills in reading literary texts, reading informational texts, writing, listening, and speaking, utilizing curriculum assigned by Augusta Christian Schools.
Integrates the Bible and biblical worldview across all levels of English-Language Arts.
Scaffolds lesson plans, assignments, and assessments to both guide and challenge students.
Evaluates academic, social, and spiritual growth of students.
Provide a variety of assessments to track student progress.
Encourages students to work in a variety of settings (individual, pairs, groups, entire class)
Manages classroom in such a way that results in classroom environment that encourages growth.
Communicates student progress to parents and administrators.
Participates in faculty meetings.
Administers the PSAT and Terra Nova tests annually.
Models Christian behavior both in and outside the classroom.
Maintains professional competence by attending professional development events, attending conferences, and reading widely in the field.
Maintains ACSI Certification by attending weekly devotions and earning other CEUs.
Attends various student and parent activities such as sport events, student clubs, the annual Fall Festival, and the annual Open House.
Coaches the Middle School Spelling Bee team.
Must possess a Bachelor?s or Master?s degree in education or a related field. Must be eligible or possess Georgia or South Carolina state certification in English-Language Arts. Must possess excellent oral and written communication abilities and a professional demeanor. With four preps, candidate must be able to multitask and balance a heavy workload.

PART-TIME ELEMENTARY SPANISH TEACHER
Job Summary: Position is responsible for implementing Spanish curriculum to 1st-5th grade elementary students in a Biblically integrated, Christ-centered, learning environment fostering an appreciation for the language and culture through hands on differentiated learning activities.
Position responsibilities include:
To teach Spanish language in a simple and effective manner that will include detailed information on Spanish culture, geography and literature.
To instill a love for Spanish language and culture as well as exposure to a variety of ministry needs within the various Spanish cultures.
To implement various activities and instructional strategies that will cater to the varying intellectual levels of the students.
To maintain a well structured learning environment that upholds the Christian core values and standards of ACS to ensure a Christ-centered learning environment.
To record student progress and to effectively communicate progress with parents
To serve as a model of Christian behavior at all times.
* Bachelors Degree in Education or Related Field
* Speaks Fluent Spanish
* Personal Testimony of Faith
