Graduation Requirements
There are two diploma types for all students: (1) Georgia Diploma-For students completing all requirements and (2) General Ed Diploma-For students missing one or more core requirements at the time of graduation. All requirements are as follows:
- 4 credits of English (9th Grade Lit & Comp & American Literature are required)
- 4 credits of Math (Students in the Honors Program take an AP math course in 12th grade)
- 4 credits of Science (Biology, Physical Science/Physics, & Chemistry/ Environmental are required)
- 3 credits of Social Studies (World Geography & AP Human Geography are electives when transferring from another school)
Elective Requirements
- 4 years of Bible* (Bible required only for each year you are enrolled at Augusta Christian)
- 2 credits of Foreign Language* (This is a requirement for 4-year colleges & both credits must be the same language)
- 6 Elective Credits: Electives can be taken in any curriculum area, including CTAE & Fine Arts. Students planning to attend a 4 year college or university are encouraged to take at least 2 electives from academic curriculum areas)
Total: 24 required credits for graduation (Students will get 28 credits with 7 periods taken all 4 years)
Honors Graduate Minimum Requirements:
- 5 Honors Courses
- 2 AP Courses
- A 90 overall average in core subject
- All Honors and AP courses must be completed with a minimum grade of “C” (74)
Current Course Offerings
Honors and AP courses are available in most subject areas. Applied courses are only offered in English and Mathematics and have an additional charge. Students in AP courses are required to take the AP exams in May and pay the $100 fee.
