Dual Enrollment

Only ACS seniors are eligible to take dual enrollment courses. Rising seniors interested in the Dual Enrollment program must contact the Guidance Department.

The Dual Enrollment Program in the state of Georgia is for students classified as high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors at accredited public or private high schools in the state of Georgia. South Carolina residents who attend ACS may participate. Private schools may use discretion to decide their individual Dual Enrollment policies.

With the Dual Enrollment Program, students may pursue postsecondary study at approved public and private colleges and technical colleges while in high school. Students will receive dual high school and college credit for courses successfully completed. Per the ACS handbook, a student may not take a core class offered on campus through dual enrollment. Contact Joy Farrer with any questions.

Students must apply to the post-secondary institution of their choice for Dual Enrollment and contact the institution’s Dual Enrollment Program coordinator. Once accepted, students must complete the Funding Application on GA Futures: GA Futures Funding Application.

Community Service

As we seek to prepare our students to serve Jesus Christ as Lord in all areas of their lives, we find it imperative to encourage students to serve our community. In order to instill this value, predetermined amounts of community service hours are required of ACS students beginning in 7th grade. Students may not receive payment for hours they intend to submit for community service. Forms may be picked up in the Guidance or High School Offices or printed from the link below. Forms must be turned into the Guidance Office to receive hours, and all hours must be submitted by April 30th.

Please see below for community service requirements and contact Joy Farrer, Katherine Clair, or Casie Hill with any questions.

College Visit Days and Form

Juniors and seniors at ACS are allowed 4 college visits with excused absences. These college visits must be pre-approved by the Guidance Department or Dr. Strother. Students must fill out a College Visit form, receive a signature from Mrs. Farrer or Dr. Strother, inform the High School Office of the visit before missing school, and have an official at the college fill out the bottom of the form. Completed forms must be turned into the High School Office upon return. Forms may be found in the High School/Guidance Offices or below.

Transcript Request-Current Students

Seniors must provide a transcript for each college application. When needing a transcript sent, please fill out this form, and the Guidance Department will send your transcript in a timely manner. Please follow up each request with an email to Mrs. Farrer and Ms. Clair. Verbal requests will not be accepted without the form/email.

Registering for Class

At the beginning of each February, students receive a pre-registration form during their first period. They will take this to each class throughout their day and receive their current teachers’ recommendations for the next class in each subject area. Forms are returned to their 7th period teachers and received by the Guidance Department. These forms are used to build the schedule for the next school year and are the first step in creating each student schedule for the next year.
