School hours Elementary students:
Carline begins at 7:25 am. Students are not permitted in the buildings until that time. Carline for 2nd-5th ends at 7:50 am. Students must be walked into the office after this time. The Rise and Roar Before School Care Program is available if an earlier drop-off is needed.

K4 Half Day – 8 am to noon

2nd – 3rd – 7:50 to 2:40 pm
4th – 5th – 7:50 to 2:50 pm

The Rise and Roar after school program’s purpose is to provide a safe, structured environment for children of Augusta Christian School working parents, who are unable to pick up their student(s) immediately following school dismissal. Professionally trained Christian adults will supervise students in a safe and loving environment. A homework time, game time, refreshments, and access to the playground equipment will be provided.

The Rise and Roar before school program’s purpose is to provide a safe, structured environment for children of Augusta Christian School working parents, who need child care prior to the school day on site at ACS. Professionally trained Christian adults will supervise students in a safe and loving environment.

How do I get my athletic passes?

Included in tuition is admission to all regular season home events for the entire school year (excluding post season playoffs that ACS hosts). Please see instructions below on how to download your free digital season passes.  These passes are attached to your ACS student’s ID number. One pass goes to the ACS student and each parent gets a pass. Parents and students must have a pass to enter games. Please read the instructions carefully.  MAKE SURE YOU USE YOUR STUDENT’S ID NUMBER AND NOT YOUR FAMILY ID NUMBER. 

If you have grandparents or other family members who would like to purchase a season pass they are able to do so from the athletic website for $101.

Birthday Rocks – How do I reserve?

We have two birthday rocks on the Baston Road Campus. One is for elementary and the other is for middle and high school. To reserve either Rock, email Lyndi Halvorsen:  Lyndi Halvorsen. She will give you all of the details.

Everyone must follow the designated procedure if accidents are to be avoided. It is imperative that students be dropped off and picked up at the specified times to provide the highest level of safety. Students may be dropped off at the campus beginning at 7:30 a.m. The school does not provide supervision of students prior to this time.

The drop-off and pick-up area for grades 2-5 is in front of the Elementary building. Safety Patrol students will help students out of their cars in the mornings. Teachers help students in their cars in the afternoons. Middle school students are dropped off in the back of the school in the mornings. Middle school students are dropped off and picked up in front of the Elementary building. Middle school parents should not arrive any earlier than 2:55 pm for afternoon or you will get caught in the elementary carline and will be asked to drive around and come back through. High school students are dropped off and picked up in front of the high school building.

Students are required to leave the school buildings and the school grounds immediately after dismissal in the afternoons. Students who are involved in school-sponsored activities must immediately report to the teacher or coach responsible for the activity. ACS does not assume responsibility for students in grades 6-12 who remain on campus and are not involved in a supervised activity.

High School students must remain in the front of their building waiting for their ride home. Middle School students must remain in the supervised car line until dismissed. Students found wandering the campus will be subject to disciplinary action and parents will be called.

Fury’s Ferry campus students are dropped off and picked up in front of the Kindergarten Building at the covered walkway.

Dress Code (taken from ACS Student Parent Handbook)

The Head of School is responsible for all decisions regarding school delays, early dismissals, or closures due to inclement weather or other emergencies. 

These decisions are based primarily on information provided by the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center, along with local emergency management officials and other reliable sources. 

Student and employee safety is always the school’s highest priority. 

Parents will be notified of schedule changes through the school’s official communication channels.

Student Illness & Medical Care 

Illness at School 

Students who become ill during the school day should report to the school office. Parents or authorized emergency contacts will be notified if a student: 

• Has a fever of 100°F or higher 
• Vomits 
• Has diarrhea 
• Appears too ill to remain in class 
• Sustains an injury requiring medical attention 

Students should not come to school when experiencing: 

• Fever 
• Vomiting 
• Diarrhea 
• A contagious illness 
• Any condition that could place others at risk 

Students must remain fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication before returning to school. 

Medication at School 

Whenever possible, medication should be administered at home. 

When medication must be given during school hours: 

• Medication must be brought to the school office by a parent or guardian. 
• Medication must remain in its original pharmacy or manufacturer’s container. 
• Prescription medication must include the student’s name, physician, dosage, and instructions. 
• A completed medication authorization form may be required. 
• Students may not carry or share medication unless specifically authorized by the administration and school nurse (when applicable). 

Medical Emergencies 

If a student experiences a medical emergency: 

School personnel will provide appropriate immediate care. 

• Emergency Medical Services (EMS) will be contacted when necessary. 
• Parents or emergency contacts will be notified as quickly as possible. 
• When parents cannot be reached, school officials may authorize emergency medical treatment in the best interest of the student. 
• Parents are financially responsible for all emergency medical expenses. 

Communicable Diseases

To protect the health of the school community, students diagnosed with a contagious illness may be required to remain home until they are no longer considered contagious. 

Examples include, but are not limited to: 

• Influenza 
• COVID-19 (as required by current health guidance) 
• Strep throat 
• Pink eye (conjunctivitis) 
• Chickenpox 
• Head lice 

The administration may require a physician’s release before a student returns to school. 

Head Lice 

If head lice or nits are suspected, the student will be evaluated by designated school personnel. All students may be checked randomly for head lice if there is a suspected case. 

Students found to have active head lice will be dismissed from school and may return after appropriate treatment and when they are free of live lice, in accordance with school procedures. 

Parents are encouraged to notify the school promptly if head lice are discovered at home to help prevent further spread. 

Students must be treated with medication and be nit-free before they are allowed to return to the classroom. 

Parents are responsible for notifying the school immediately of any changes to: 

• Emergency contacts 
• Medical conditions 
• Medications 
• Allergies 
• Other important health information

School personnel work diligently to maintain a safe and healthy environment for all students. Parental cooperation with school health and safety policies is necessary in order to avoid accidents and to properly care for students. Safety rules for students are posted in the classroom. These rules are discussed with students for the health and safety of all concerned. Students are required to report any unsafe or potentially hazardous conditions to the teacher, counselor, or administrator.

Required Immunizations – Every child must be current in their immunizations to attend Augusta Christian Schools. Georgia law requires immunizations. The record of these immunizations must appear on Form 3231 from the Georgia Department of Human Resources. Students entering or transferring into Georgia Schools must show proof of the following immunizations: DTP, Hepatitis B, OPV, MMR.

Physical Examination – Every child entering school in the State of Georgia must submit a Certificate of Ear, Eye, Dental and Nutrition Examinations (commonly referred to as the “4-point screening” form). This information must be submitted to the school on Form 3300 from the Georgia Department of Human Resources. This may be obtained from the school that the student is currently attending.

Birth Certificate – A certified copy of the child’s birth certificate must be presented to the school office prior to acceptance.

Students Riding in an ACS Vehicle
Students may be transported to events, field trips, or activities using ACS vehicles. Improper behavior in school vehicles will not be permitted. Our drivers need to concentrate on driving and should not be distracted by the misbehavior of students. Those students who, in the opinion of the driver, misbehave will be referred to the administration for appropriate action.

Student Cars and Parking Regulations

Augusta Christian Schools does not provide daily bus transportation. Families are responsible for arranging transportation to and from school. Driving to school is a privilege that carries significant responsibility. 

Students who drive must: 

• Register their vehicle with the High School Office. 
• Purchase and display the required parking permit. 
• Park only in their assigned parking space. 
• Observe all campus traffic patterns and posted speed limits (10 mph campus-wide; 5 mph in the Elementary area). 
• Keep vehicles parked during the school day unless permission is granted by the school office. 

Students may not: 

•  Move their vehicle during the school day without administrative approval. 
• Gather or remain in vehicles while on campus. 
• Enter the parking lot/car during the school day without permission. 
• Remain in their cars once parked. 

Student drivers are responsible for the conduct of passengers in their vehicles while on campus. 

Only seniors may leave campus for lunch with parent permission and administrative approval. This privilege may be revoked for disciplinary or safety reasons. 

Failure to comply with parking and driving regulations may result in suspension or revocation of driving privileges, disciplinary action, or additional consequences. 

Students will not be allowed to ride with other students without parental permission. 

• Monthly payments are due on the 1st of each month, beginning in July.
• Semi-annual payments are due July 1 and January 1.
• Annual payments are due July 1.

The Business Office has implemented a payment system through your FACTS Family Portal. If you have any trouble setting it up, please contact the Business Office for assistance.
